The seminar covers the use of 13Cr (Chrome), 316 Stainless Steel, and Hard-facing (HF) overlays to ensure the valve maintains a minimum tight seal.

The seminar will also cover the Inspection and Testing per API-598 ensures structural integrity and sealing performance through: Shell Test, Backseat Test and the Closure “Seat Test” (high-pressure and sometimes low-pressure gas) testing to confirm the wedge provides a reliable shut-off without exceeding maximum allowable leakage rates.

A brief Introduction for API-600 Scope, Comparative Context and Trim definition is also included: Covers wedge gate valves designed for heavy-duty service. The scope includes valves with flanged or butt-welding ends in sizes ranging from NPS 1 to NPS 42. It provides specific wall thickness and stuffing box dimensions for pressure ratings across Classes 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, and 2500.
