Andy Padgett serves as the Region 1 Traffic Operations Manager at the Tennessee Department of Transportation. In this role, he is responsible for managing and overseeing the Transportation Management Center, Highway Response Units – also known as the HELP Program, and Traffic Operations and Permitting Section teams. He also provides technical assistance and support for TMC operations, Signing programs, Active Transport Integration, Transportation Systems Management and Operations strategies and implementation. Andy joined the team at TDOT in 2006, where he began his career in the traffic office before serving as a Civil Engineering Manager in the Project Development Division. In this role Andy managed projects like resurfacing, bridge replacement, rock fall mitigation, alternative delivery projects and consultant management. Andy earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Tennessee,
Knoxville, and is a licensed professional engineer. He and his wife Mary, along with their children Lilly and Nathaniel, live in Powell, Tenn.
